SilverChef celebrates 10 years as a Certified B Corporation

This year, SilverChef proudly marks its 10th year as a Certified B Corporation. This milestone underscores our enduring commitment to social and environmental responsibility, ethical governance, and community impact. 

In our latest recertification, SilverChef achieved its highest-ever B Impact Assessment with a score of 94.3, surpassing the minimum threshold (80) required for B Corp certification. This accomplishment reflects continuous improvements across key areas, including workers, customers, community, environment and governance.  

Additionally, EconoLease has now joined the B Corp community, coming under the same banner as SilverChef for the first time. EconoLease are part of the global SilverChef Group, based in Canada and have been leading providers of hospitality finance in the region for over 30 years.

Understanding B Corp certification 

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet high standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability. The certification, administered by the non-profit B Lab, evaluates companies on their impact on all stakeholders – including workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment. 

B Corps in the hospitality industry 

The hospitality sector has seen a growing number of businesses pursuing B Corp certification, recognising the importance of sustainable and ethical practices. Hotels and hospitality groups are implementing measures such as sourcing local and sustainable products, reducing waste, and engaging in community initiatives to meet B Corp standards.
