SilverChef: Using business as a driving force for good

article

SilverChef always strives to conduct itself in ways that produce social, environmental and economic benefits for communities in Australia and abroad. We believe part of the measure of our success is based upon our contribution to building a fairer and more equitable society.

Recently, we have been proudly awarded the highly prestigious B Corporation accreditation. As one of only three publicly listed companies in Australia (and a mere 1,366 companies worldwide) with this status, SilverChef is working hard to redefine what success in business looks like.

We are dedicated to using our business as a force for good, and endeavour to drive sustainable change in communities in Australia and abroad, foster social inclusion and build emotional wealth.

We are extremely proud and humbled to have received this recognition and accreditation.

A B Corp accreditation is similar to a fair trade coffee accreditation where we want to use business as a power for good.

Homelessness is a very real problem in Australia; did you know one in four people who are homeless is due to either domestic violence? This is the biggest contributor, and half of all people experiencing homelessness are women and young children. What's more, government funding to this cause and their charities has recently been cut. It's up to us to make a difference!

SilverChef has recently partnered with an Australia charity, StreetSmart, to help eradicate homelessness on home turf. Their annual DineSmart campaign encourages restaurants to get involved and ask a $2 micro-donation per table during the program period, 9 November to 31 December. The campaign is easy to implement and fits in seamlessly with the day-to-day running of your restaurant. What's more, 100% of the fundraising money raised is funnelled straight back into your local community. Please have a look at the video below giving further details and we encourage your participation.

Thank you for giving your time to explore the DineSmart campaign.
