As COO of Silver Chef I’m constantly looking for innovative ways to improve the customer experience with Rent-Try-Buy. I was therefore delighted to find a product that made life easier for our customers whilst reducing an existing bottleneck for our staff.

I’m proud to announce that we are the first Australian company to enter into a partnership with DocuSign, an electronic signature solution.

Put simply, DocuSign allows our clients to sign their rental agreements online with a click of the mouse without having to print anything or put pen to paper. Furthermore an electronic signed copy is emailed to them for their convenience – as we all know we use our email system as a mini filing system . How convenient is that?
None of the big banks are yet to offer this kind of service to their customers, meaning Silver Chef are yet again innovators in the finance world.
One of our biggest bottlenecks has long been the return of rental documentation. The feedback we receive is that it can often get lost, damaged or forgotten meaning our staff spend quite a bit of time on the phone following up documents that are needed to finalise contracts. This of course leads to delays, something we try our best to avoid so the customer has their equipment as soon as possible.
Still in a trial phase, we are yet to roll out DocuSign to all rental contracts but have seen such success with our trials, we hope to use it across most facets of the organisation. I had proposed that even if we could save, on average, one day in the contract pipeline this project would be worthwhile. Never did we imagine we could get documents back within the hour!
The electronic signature process is simple and we believe the easiest and fastest way for you to finalise your contracts with us. We received feedback from a customer who was self confessed ‘computer illiterate’ who found the process a breeze.
Another great benefit of using DocuSign is that it is also great for the environment as you save considerable paper and so do we. It’s been great to see the printer and fax getting a rest these past few weeks as more documentation is conducted online.
I really look forward to rolling this project out to other facets of the business. The success we have seen so far fills me with confidence that electronic signatures are indeed the fastest and easiest way for our customers to do business with Silver Chef.
